Korn suckers

I am sure every true metalhead already know that Korn, this fake neo-something band, are not playing really metal.

Until now, it was only about their music. Now read this and you will understand why they suck big time.

They were one of the big bands that would play June, Friday 22 at the French extreme metal festival HellFest (I was there, but I had no intention to see them on stage).

They were anxious about the heavy rain (it rained a lot most of the time during the festival), and they asked the festival organization to be sure that their wages have been paid. The management showed them the bank accounts proofs, and they said that they would make it. But at 19:30, a few hours before their planned gig, they leaved like thieves in their tour bus, without warning the organization about their departure.

The HellFest organization is currently putting this in front of some London jurisdiction court.

Needless to say, they were the only band (I am not saying metal band, see above) which canceled their gig. Emperor and Neurosis played the last night under buckets of rain without any problems. But them are true metal bands.

Extreme Metal (and some mud)

I am just returning home from the 3 days of the Hellfest festival (not the American punk festival, the French extreme metal festival that takes place each year in Clisson, near Nantes).

Excellent line-up !!! My preferred (but there were many other important bands): 1349, Immortal, Emperor, Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, Enslaved, Converge (OK, this is hardcore, not true metal), but they are awesome), Napalm Death, Brujeria, Neurosis, Megadeth...

Unfortunately, the festival site and campgrounds were drenched in pouring rain, then mud... Not enough to alter the metal spirit !!!

I took some pics of the festival, more when I am able to upload them...

Polysics & Shit and Shine

I was at the free Polysics show, two weeks ago during the Villette Sonique festival outdoors, in Paris La Villette. Just before them, that was Shit and Shine, four drummers (!!) and two bassists for a heavy metallic jam (this was not heavy metal in the traditional meaning of the term, but yes it was metallic and yes it was heavy).

You really should see Polysics on stage once, they are really crazy, they are between punk (Japanese, this is energy without the no future stanza, and without the safety pins), synth, videogames, and manga, all of that toppled by an everlasting energy !!! With their outfits, their attitude, and their looks, their gigs look also a bit as artistic performances (without the yawns).

I've shot a lot of pics of them, I just couldn't stop, I was at merely 10 cm from the stage and they fed me (and others) with their eccentric energy.
Polysics
The whole set is here. I propose you look at them while hearing I My Me Mine, for example, to be in the mood (hum, this stuff could not be further apart from jazz).

Truth

From Tim Bray:
I don't believe in God, and I don't believe in Adam Smith or Karl Marx, and I don't believe in the abstractions of Capital or Labour or GAAP, and I don't believe in the Nation or the Family or the Race or the Tribe.
I believe in truth.

...

Unwillful untruth is just ignorance and is to be overcome, like a river in one's path or a sore muscle. Willful untruth is the telling of lies; it should be fought with passion and without mercy, ripped flesh from bones and left to rot in the cold light of day.

Sarkozy under the influence

He said he never drink any alcohol... Seems that he had too much vodkas with his comrade Putin, just before his first press conference...

Polysics again

For those of you who live in Paris or around, Polysics, the crazy Japanese Punk / Noise / Synth / whatever band will be in Paris next Sunday (approx. 19 h) during the Villette Sonique festival outdoors, in the Parc de la Villette. The show is free and will take place at the "Scene du Belvédère" (see here for the map).

Return of J-Pop

I decided to post this after having experienced some difficulty to behave in the subway this morning, while listening to Now Is The Time.

Yes, Polysics, the Japanese J-Pop are back here, and as crazy as ever. Enjoy (but don't click below if you have some heart disease, it could kill you).

And don't ask me to translate anything. Seriously, do you care ?
